What an absolute fantastic early find! ---- HAND PATTERNED ANTIQUE VINAIGRETTE ----- Dating from the Estate purchased ... should be in the Mid-to Late 18th Century - CERTAINLY UNIQUE and by the design, HOUSED VINEGAR soaked SMELLING SALTS- USED for REVIVING FAINTING WOMEN (Mostly... lol lol ... you know those "Girls"....) and certainly ONE WAS CARRIED IN EVERY DOCTOR'S BAG in the Early Years, actually up to the WAR YEARS as well. NOTE the design as the ROUND CENTER OPEN GRID on EACH SIDE which would be the main "SMELLING AREA" ... NOTE also the fine hand work and detail ... BEYOND WORDS!

 Right at 3 1/4" in Length & 1 1/4" wide & ONE END screws off and you can view what appears to be a fine homespun type early cloth..... certainly for the AMMONIA to EASILY PENETRATE .... The design also is great, as it was made to HOLD IN THE HAND ... just in case! Wearing those tight fitting dresses ... often the heat of the day caused the girls to FAINT! .... What they did for BEAUTY!!! lol lol ... Perhaps even the "Ladies of the Night" carried one! (Oh, stop! .. I'm old and allowed! lol lol) GREAT FIND and how do you price something SO RARE ... well I HAVE ----  LOW SHIPPING of Course and I LOVE MY JOB!
