These are very nice 4 led dummy light easy to understand throttles for 48v which is up to 56 volts on standard sealed lead acid.
The pins connected onto the throttle are male 2.8mm brass pins in a 6 pin connector with 58 inches or wire and we send the other female ends and connector so you wont need nothing besides knowing what your doing. The throttle, once connected properly, will turn your controller on and off and it comes with 2 keys for it also. Seriously a great price and deal.
They ARE variable speed throttles and yes you need a variable speed controller in order for this to work. Its basic for the variable throttle part it has the Black, Red and Green which is most likely what you have then the last 2 pins are for the on off portion which also feeds the digital display.
We use these and I have a over stock of 48volt ones so buy them while you can at this cheap price, I also include directions with text and phone support and send the other end of the connector with the female brass pins unlike any seller on ebay. I know how to hook it to brushless controllers with just the " power lock" weird label that makes absolutely no sense
