This is an antique pipe tobacco tamper or hand seal wax matrix, bought these as pipe tampers but can be used as a seal, get the base engraved with your own initials.  
In the shape of a Dickensian character - made from solid brass in the shape of a  short man with his hands in his pockets, stood on a plinth not sure who this is meant to be. 
 No maker's marks etc.


In collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. Some of the detailing has been worn down from use but otherwise fine. No damage to the metalware.

It measures approx. 56mm tall and approx. 21mm in diameter on the base.
OR 2 and 1/8 inches tall in imperial.
