This is a original antique Japanese woodblock print by the famous print designer Mishima Shosho 1856-1928

The print shows two women from a rural village who carry branches on their heads wearing protective cloths. The first woman carries a basket with flowers. The background shows the  beautiful scenery of the countryside. This is a woodblock print of the Kuchi E type. Kuchi E s are frontispieces which were placed in books and magazines.
