Lamson, Wolffe, and Company, Boston, 1898, 9vo.xx(2)431(ix)pp. Rare Presentation copy with biographical information of the author in his hand.

Sharp First Edition, square, tight and clean throughout with a bit of wear to edges, tips and spine-ends.  Some spotting and wrinkling to cloth on rear board.   Off-setting to endpapers and paste-downs.

Inscribed by the author on the front endpaper,  "With the appreciative regards of the author. Henry B. Carrington, U.S. Army.  Born at Wallingford, CT, March 2, 1824; Yale'45.  Hyde Park, Mass, April 24, 1899".

Carrington was a Brigadier General during the Civil War.

A very attractive collectable copy and quite scarce.

Please excuse any glare or reflections in the pictures.  Books I know; photography not so much.
