This is an original antique 1868 advertising booklet type catalog issued by the American Steam Fire-Proof Safe Company of New York, Boston and Baltimore. This is a stitch bound booklet format of 36 pages measuring about 7.25” x 4.5”. The cover features an illustration of Sanborn’s Steam Fire-Proof Safe and reads in part:
The STEAM FIRE-PROOF SAFE. One of the Greatest Inventions Of The Age. – Testimonials, Tests, Committees’ Reports, Gold Medals Awarded, Descriptions, &c., &c. – American Steam Fire-Proof Safe Company – 1868
As the cover suggests this booklet contains customer testimonials, descriptive text, information on tests and trials of the company’s safes and related information. This booklet is text only without illustrations and is an original antique issued in 1868. The booklet has some toning from age mostly to the front cover and modest wear.
