Entitled The Autocar Portfolio of Motor Racing: The Endless Quest for Speed, this second of two folders of twelve Autocar magazine prints from paintings by F Gordon-Crosby was published circa 1945 by Iliffe and Sons Limited. The prints are preceded by a two-page introduction by Autocar sports editor S C H Davis, and included within the prints is a depiction of Kenelm Lee Guinness in the 350hp Sunbeam which would later be driven by Malcolm Campbell to a number of speed records. Also in the series is a depiction of the famous Brooklands match race between Parry Thomas and Ernest Eldridge in the Leyland Thomas Special and FIAT Mephistopheles respectively. All prints are in very good condition with some handling and age evidence to the outer folder, see pictures for full content and condition.
