• If you purchase and do not tell us the piston and rod sizes we will automatically ship all std sizes the next day by noon. If you want parts shipped today, then you have to tell us the sizes. Ebay forces us to ship with in 12 hrs or we get penalized for non or late shipment. Sizes can be left in check out and in Paypal in "Leave seller a Message", by emailing us the sizes through the ebay auction, I will email you after the auction between 10 and 20 times asking for the sizes and you can just answer one of the numerous ebay messages.   • This is for the large bore engine and the cylinder sizes are listed below. If you have the small bore, you must purchase the standard piston and have it bored to match the piston.
  • Please see the bore sizes in the chart below.

  • This is for the large bore engine and the cylinder sizes are listed below
  • This is for all the large bore K161 engines including K161A, K161AS, K161AQS or any k161 with any suffix on it.
  • Pistons. Please note the cylinder chart below, kohler made the early small bore and the later large bore. If you have the small bore, they do not make that piston any longer. You have to purchase the large bore standard piston and have the machine shop bore to match.
  •  Rods, Please note.. The K161 rod is 4 1/4 inches (crank pin to wrist pin) center to center and about 7 7/8 in long
  •                                   The K181 rod is 4 inches (crank pin to wrist pin) center to center and about 7 1/2 in long.
  • If you have the longer rod, you have a K161, if you have the shorter rod you have a 8hp K181
  • Numbers or models stamped on the shroud or block mean nothing, engine is determined by the bore and stroke and I clearly give you all the measurements above and below to defiantly tell you what you have. No money is made when an item is purchased and returned

  • Kit is Customized to your Engine Rebuilding Needs:    Measure Cylinder Bore and Rod Size and give me the size according to your measurement at the time of payment to expedite your shippment. (i.e. 2.9375= std. Piston and Rings *When measuring cylinder bore, please measure the cylinder wall approx. 1 inch down the cylinder wall for correct measurement. 
  • The machine shop must have the piston before they can bore the cylinder to match the cylinder bore to the piston. If they try and bore the block without having the piston, go to a different machine shop!
  • 7 HP STANDARD Cylinder large Bore 2.9375" or 2  15/16 inch, if you have the small bore 2 7/8 cylinder, you must purchase std size piston and have your machine shop match the cylinder to the standard piston.
