This is a nicely incised Brass Container / Box from Southeast Asia.  This piece most likely dates from the early part of the 1900's.  This container was purchased in the early 1970's by my father when he owned an Antique Shop in the Rasa Sayang Hotel on Batu Ferringhi Beach in Penang  The two pieces fit perfectly and there is a lovely incised circular pattern on the top cover.

The box has not been polished and retains it’s original patina.  Applying polish would drastically change the box’s appearance if you prefer a shinier / newer looking piece.

Brass Container / Box Dimensions: 2 5/8 inches in Diameter and 3 1/2 inches high.  Weight: 4.8 ounces
