This is one of a number of Richmond in North Yorkshire cycling related items from the famous N.Y. & S.D. cycling club which stands for North Yorkshire & South Durham Cyclists Meet.
The clubs flourished right from when they were founded in 1892 and never looked back really. In around 1965 there was a change in the club name and the wording on the enamel badges which became RICHMOND MEET and the year. You will notice that some of these badges have the extra scroll below with the title of the wearer such as PRESIDENT - VICE PRESIDENT - EX PRESIDENT - PATRON.
As I am sure you are aware there is only 1 President and Ex President and Vice President each year so these particular badges are very rare and 1 offs for that year. Patron ...I have seen duplicates of these.
This one is the 1936 VICE PRESIDENT badge.
The badge is complete with its pin and makers name on the back is Richardson, Middlesbrough.
No chips or cracks in the enamelling.
It measures 29mm x 23mm.
