This is an unusual 1942 - 1970 canvas military Sights AA binoculars cases WORKING PATTERN that looks like it is just a sample for testing before manufacturing.

It still has 2 labels attached which have handwritten details about the case along with what look like post stamps but I'm assuming these are quality control pass marks or something.
They are dated from 16 / 7 / 1942 at the earliest and 27 / July / 1970 at the latest.
There is also a red wax seal with the Army Ordnance Corps badge on a piece of felt attached alongside the labels which is from the Chief Inspector W. Pidgeon who has also signed off the pattern.
Catalogue No. XA8175. from the Chief Inspector of Stores Central Ordnance Depot Didcot. This label not to be removed from the sample.

In collectable condition with signs of age and use wear. I'm going to assume that this case has been through a lot of testing and wear since it is a test sample - working pattern.
It is a V shaped canvas case with a zip along the top edge.
Please see pictures for details.
It measures approx. 9 and 1/2 inches long x 7 inches at its widest point.

Good go-with item for anyone into binoculars or militaria.

Interesting item which I doubt many will survive.. they will have been thrown out years ago.
