18th / 19th Century French Tin & Engraved Glass Candle Lantern 

This is an extremely rare design 18th / 19th century glass & tin candle lantern, probably French.

The panels are wheel engraved by hand with a stag, birds, flowers, brocade, swags etc. an extraordinary piece

CONDITION The top plate beneath the handle is damage/split beneath the ring handle hence it has a wire in place to secure it, one pane cracked - as per images

The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
