Check out the pictures to see the lock and how it works.  We have had a couple of customers that purchased new trailers and the manufacturer didn't space the hasp correctly.  If yours is that way, in some cases you can just bend the 2 pieces closer together.  If there is still too much of a gap you can just unbolt once side of your wall mount and adjust them closer together, how they should be.
