Note: the photos I am using are of the actual product you will receive, but consistency of the resins may vary. All resins will have some smaller particles, and some powder. This is still pure resin and will be suitable for the same use as the larger granules.

The Acacia Gum granules have an average size of between 8 - 16mm. There is a small amount of powder in the Acacia Gum.

Our latest batch of Acacia Gum is a beautiful raw gum harvested from Acacia Senegal trees. Being a raw product it may have some natural impurities like small pieces of bark. There is nothing in it that can be harmful to you, but if you are going to ingest it, we recommend rinsing it with some water first.

Also known as Gum Arabic, this golden yellow resin has a ‘glassy look’ and a light, woody fragrance when burnt. It derives from several species of acacia that mostly grow as thorny bushes and are native to the arid regions of North Africa. The tree was honoured as the abode of a Goddess that could bestow fertility on women and heal the sick. In ancient Egypt it was used in the embalming procedure. Throughout the ancient world it played a role in medicine and magic.

Gum Acacia has excellent binding properties and is very useful as a fixative for more volatile substances such as essential oils. It is used in incense blends intended for protection, healing, fertility and prosperity and is useful for spiritual grounding.

Gum Arabic, also known as gum sudani, acacia gum, Arabic gum, gum acacia, acacia, Senegal gum, Indian gum, and by other names, is a natural gum consisting of the hardened sap of two species of the acacia (sensu lato) tree, Acacia senegal (now known as Senegalia senegal) and Vachellia (Acacia) seyal.
