Here is a lovely powder tin from the 1950's that still has a little powder and the pad with it and a whole lot of history.

The previous owner acquired this tin from the estate of Mrs. Virginia Bennett Crocker Vroman.  Virginia was a New York socialite who  married Mr. John C. Vroman, Jr. of Manzanola, Colorado, a wealthy 1914 Princeton University graduate and 1921 Colorado State Representative.

After divorcing Mr. Vroman, Virginia went on to marry Mr. Temple Hoyne Buell, the famed architect for which the Buell Theatre and The Buell Children's Museum are named after.

The previous owner of the tin bought the Vroman home in 1971 and numerous items were left there.  She wrote with permanent marker on the bottom of the tin as the photo illustrates.

This is the perfect size to fit in a drawer or cupboard to organize small items like hair pins, razor blades, etc.

The gold and black tin measures approximately 6 1/8" X 3 7/8" X 1 1/4".
