ElkSD128 - SD Card Interface, 128K RAM Expansion & Joystick Port for the Acorn Electron
The ElkSD128 is an all-in-one expansion that enables the
Acorn Electron to load and run disk images from a standard SD memory
card. It also incorporates a 9-pin digital joystick interface that offers wider game compatibility than any previous Electron joystick interface.
In addition, the ElkSD128 includes 128K of sideways RAM to bring the Electron up to a total of 160K. Sideways RAM can be used for loading ROM images or for playing games that require more then the standard 32K.
If you want to easily and quickly play all those classic games on your Electron, the ElkSD128 is for you. Designed as a more capable version of the best-selling ElkSD64, it is the most complete expansion unit for the Electron with a wide range of features that include:
- Fast SD card interface, uses normal FAT32 formatted SD cards up to 8GB (*)
- Connects to the Electron's expansion connector, no extra hardware needed (just an SD card!)
- Contains 128K of sideways RAM, expanding your Electron to a total of 160K of RAM
- Enhanced compatibility, works with almost all Electron games including those that require PAGE = $E00
- An Atari/Commodore type 9-pin joystick port, compatible with Plus 1, First Byte and Slogger interface standards

An SD card is not included with the ElkSD128.
If your Electron has a Plus 1 interface attached, please take a look at the ElkSDPlus-1. The ElkSD128 is not compatible with the Acorn Plus 3 disk interface unit.
(*) Many SD cards up to 64GB have been tested and found to work provided they are formatted as FAT32 and partitioned to less than 8GB, but this is not guaranteed. Use of 1-8GB capacity cards of a reputable brand, such as SanDisk, Samsung or Kingston, is recommended.
