1 of a number of buttons I am listing at the moment from a vast collection which will take me "donkeys years" to list. Some are interesting Georgian era Militia and the Foot Regiments made of pewter which have been dug up - metal detected with a few lead musket and pistol balls too so do keep an eye out.
All with have the #MB ref code.
A brass 1 piece button with the brass loop bent but complete on the concave back... in dug up condition and if you know what metal comes out of the ground like you will know its fairly rough to look at with a green patina.
Do not let that put you off as these early foot regiment and militia buttons are rare and seldom seen... I wish I knew where they had been dug up but alas I do not know.
A domed button with a simple large 3 on the front.. it has fine horizontal lines on it, background is plain.
Someone has cleaned this probably the day they dug it up and its lost some of the green patina on the very top of the dome. No makers marks as far as I can see but I have NOT cleaned the back as I leave all items in the condition I get them in.
3rd of Foot regiment is usually associated with The Buffs Royal East Kent regiment.
I have been unable to find this particular design button on the interesting websites and forums.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm dia....that is just short of 7/8ths inch dia.
