In 1953, Wheaties Post Cereal began a successful sales campaign offering bicycle license plates.  Four different sets of twelve plates each could be purchased by sending 25 cents and one box top to the company.  Some license plates, including the District of Columbia were put in random cereal boxes.

This 1953 Northwest Quebec plate measures approximately 4 3/4 x 2".

It shows the usual stains, scratches and bends as would be expected from age and use.
