This vintage sterling silver hair barrette has been nicely shaped and handstamped with a 4 petal design. The barrette measures 4 1/2" long and 1/2" wide and weighs just over 14 grams. It has a simple handcrafted silver clip at the back. The barrette is marked La Azteca, Silver, Mexico. This barrette is in great vintage condition and ready to be worn. It has a rich silver patina from age and would polish up beautifully if you wished.

The Azteca shop was located in Sonora Mexico. When they opened the shop, brothers Jose and Elias Martinez were already active jewelry makers and they remained in business for over 30 years until they moved their shop to states in the mid- to later 1960s.
