Artist:
Morris Yudelson was born
in Philadelphia, PA in 1941, and currently resides in
the Los Angeles area. Since childhood art has been of major
importance to him, but economic considerations initially drew him to another
career in pharmacy. But art was never far from his attention, and he has always
maintained an earnest pursuit of his artistic development. He has been working
full time as an artist since 1980. He’s worked in various mediums including
painting, collage, printmaking, mixed media, and currently works in digital
art.
Morris says that each
medium has its own lexicon and learning to speak in each language has been an
exciting pursuit. Creating a watercolor requires a different sensibility than
when creating in oil or acrylic. A
lithograph is not a painting etc. Trying to make each mimic the
other is a fool's errand, since each medium's language is unique.
The evolution of his
artistic vision has been greatly influenced by the exploration of the various
mediums. His joy is derived from exploration and experimentation, always
pushing to learn more.....a perpetual work in progress.
Take a moment and review
his work, which has been shown both individually, in galleries and group shows
for more than 40 years. Its broad range has appealed to both private and
corporate collectors. View the work as if it were a dream or a fleeting visualization.
See how it conveys the motion and energy of his world. Observe the complex use
of line, mass, and color within a dynamic compositional structure. Allow
yourself to be captivated. Move your eyes around within the borders of each
piece and be enriched by a visual, emotional, and aesthetic experience. Relax
for a while and come back to see the art unfold with each viewing as if it were
forever in flux.
