A rule of thumb is maximum stick out is the same diameter of the cup. The recommended air flow (L/Min) corresponds to the cup size # (+ or – 2 L/Min).

So, for example… Size #16 THICC cup has a diameter of 30mm and will comfortably take up to 30mm tungsten stick-out. Because the THICC cup size number is #16 gas flow @ 16 L/Min (+ or – 2 L/Min).
