The pieces can be fit together to form a circle.  There is a 12 X 12 paper covered steel playing surface with one side that shows the skeletons of each dino, the other side is a scene where the dinosaurs can "roam" or they can be used on any surface that will hold magnets (filing cabinets, locker, or fridges(-not stainless) for example).
