Artist Donna Corno's beautiful paintings are a treasure. Her use of vibrant colors and layers of paint applied with bold brush and painter's knife create striking deep portraits of everyday people.  The photograph does not do her work justice, the depth and color in person are spectacular! 

Corno said, I paint the human figure.  I love to explore their strengths and their human frailties.  I want to discover who they are connected to and how that connection renders their frailties less harmful both to themselves and to others.  My awareness of interpersonal relationships offers me strength in knowing who I am because of who my people are.  I attempt to portray all kinds of people who possess honor, courage, and integrity despite their shortcomings, and that give me hope.  I paint HOPE.

Corno received a B.S. at BYU in Child Development and Family Relations, and later returned to BYU where she received her MFA in 2002. She recently taught at UVU for four years and now concentrates full-time on painting.
