The Pheasant


I am often asked which feathers I use given the subtle differences in colour and tone between items.

 At this time, all items (including all garment accessories and festive baubles) use feathers from the wonderful pheasant.

 Pheasants are large, long-tailed gamebirds. The males have rich chestnut, golden-brown and black markings on their bodies and tails, with a dark green head and red face wattling. Females are mottled with paler brown and black. Both stunning birds!

Recycled Materials


Here's the bit I find most important. What actually goes into my products? Where possible, I use recycled materials. 



Feathers: Always taken from pheasants involved in local sport within Norfolk and Suffolk, or from birds ordered in to local purveyors of food - ensuring the pheasant has had a free life!



Packaging: Your item will arrive in a no-frills recyclable cardboard tube, I will add a small personal touch. Occasionally I will need to use bubble wrap to protect the item.



Other materials: Some items will be built around a frame. This may not always be recyclable, but will often be up-cycled as a byproduct. I try and acquire all source materials as seconds/defects from manufacturers who would otherwise dispose of them.

 No need to worry about any of the above, this won't affect the quality of the end product you will receive from me. It just helps the environment and ensures nothing goes to waste.
