“Frank Gehry: Architect” 2001, Enron -Sponsored Guggenheim Retrospective Catalog

Item Description.   A retrospective published to honor the superstar architect Frank Gehry titled “Frank Gehry: Architect” and published by the Guggenheim Museum and sponsored by Enron Corporation (just before the company imploded).  Includes a forward titled “Innovation and the Challenge to Orthodoxy: A Message from Enron” where they unselfconsciously compare themselves to Mr. Gehry, and a sponsor statement from Jeff Skilling, President and CEO of Enron.  The book itself is gorgeous with multiple illustrations and descriptive text printed on high quality, heavy weight glossy paper.  Even the binding is nice, with “Frank Gehry: Architect” blind stamp on the front board and premium end papers. 

Condition Details.  Book is in good condition with the following condition issues noted:  bottom edge of both front and back boards is sunned; gouge/indentation in the dust jacket on the front cover which doesn’t affect the front board or covering; an additional, but deeper indentation in on the back dust jacket, however this time the gouge reaches the board to leave a small divot (difficult to see without bright indirect light); very slight scuffing on the front and back dust cover; very slight edgewear along the top of both the front and back parts of the dust cover.  With those exceptions noted, the item is very nice with expensive looking and feeling dust jacket, premium binding, straight text block and spine and no cuts, stray marks, dog ears, rips, or tears either inside or out.
