Leicester's Brockhampton Press specialised in affordable and beautifully-produced children's books. The small-format strip books, sometimes called "the Mary Mouse series", featured works by Enid Blyton, Neville Main, Molly Brett, Joy Seddon, and most of the leading children's writers and artists of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Many are now difficult to find.
