You are bidding on about 50 EUROPEAN GRAY ALDER SEEDS -  Alnus incana .

This is a large pyramidal tree that grows to 40-60' tall.

It is a fast-growing, thicket forming, deciduous, spreading small tree or shrub that is native to wet sandy or gravelly soils, often along the peripheries of lakes, ponds, streams, rivers and swamps .

It is commonly called speckled alder because of the white warty lenticils (pores) that speckle the bark.

Bloom Description: Purplish-brown (male) and green (female)

It is native to Europe and the Caucasus.

Medicinal use of Grey Alder: 

None known 

Other uses : 

This species fixes atmospheric nitrogen and is also tolerant of polluted soils, it can be used for land reclamation, especially on coal tips. This is an excellent pioneer species for re-establishing woodlands on disused farmland, difficult sites etc. Its fast rate of growth means that it quickly provides sheltered conditions to allow more permanent woodland trees to become established.
The bark and the fruits contain up to 20% tannin. 
Wood - light, soft, fairly elastic, easy to split. Used for clogs, bowls, woodcuts etc. Much valued by cabinet makers.
