Antique, Victorian, Mahogany & Rosewood rectangular, adjustable table top mirror.

I bought this mirror originally because of the foxed mirror plate. Unfortunately, in transit via a courier the mirror plate was badly damaged. Rather than return the mirror to the seller I decided to replace the broken mirror plate, so the mirror plate is pristine.

I have added new glazier points to hold the mirror plate in place, and added some suitably coloured paper to the back to replace what was originally there.

There was no finial when I acquired the mirror but the brass one I have added is Victorian in date so is appropriate for this item. The mirror is mahogany, with rosewood veneer on the front surround.

Some of the rosewood veneer was broken in transit to me. The cracked veneer has all been glued back into place and is now very secure.

The interesting feature about this mirror is that  it can be adjusted to either one of three positions. Photographs 7 - 9 inclusive show the mirror at the three angles achieved by adjusting the back plate as required. When the mirror is not required it can be folded virtually flat as shown in photograph 10.

The hinge pin was missing when I acquired this item, and had been replaced by a suitable piece of wire. As this works perfectly well I have retained it as part of the history of this piece.

Despite the travails this mirror has suffered in its journey to me it has now turned into a very useful and striking mirror

I am confident that with careful packing this mirror can be couriered to its new home. I will send it via UPS  as they have properly racked out vans for transporting fragile items. Postage is just to within mainland UK
