ALTERNATE VERSION- These are cards that were made in the USA by the United States Playing Card Company ( USPCC ) for Wizards Of The Coast in 1995 for the 4th edition starter sets only instead of their normal printer in Belgium.

These cards look extremely similar to standard 4th edition cards in normal light although the USPCC versions often seem more vividly colored. In addition the card stock is a bit different and features a glossier finish.

USPCC cards also tend to have a peculiar wear pattern in that they develop more edge whitening than normal MTG cards. A special coating was applied to these cards by USPCC which protects the colors from fading in sunlight. Under black light you’ll see a darker image than unprotected cards and the white borders will appear almost pink/purple when compared against normal cards. 🎴
