Nice group of three early hand made needle hooks in great condition and interesting carved details.
These were frequently made by sailors while at sea on long voyages for that special loved one waiting back home for his return.

I'm not an authority but my guess is that these are made from the bone of a fish, probably a whale which would
have been abundantly available.

The length of the 2 longer needle hooks is about 5 1/4" & the shorter one is 4".

The hooks on the end of each one is in good condition and they all have characteristics of being used

These were probably hand made in the later 19th. Century in New England.

A very nice interesting sewing item!
