One of a number of Ephemera lots I am currently selling all related to Yorkshire (mostly Hull and Beverley) from 18thC-19thC. Please see my other listings for more.

This is an antique handwritten manuscript book titled Abstract of James Second's Charter to Beverley.

The paper has 1799 watermarks.

I would say this has probably been written by Samuel Hall, Esq. of Beverley and he was Mayor of Beverley in about 1829. He liked to write things down going by other items within this archive.

There are 42 fully written pages with some blank pages near the end.
There may be some pages missing because the contents at the front goes up to page 51 but the numbered pages inside only go up to 39.

I would think there will be some very interesting local social history items written in here which have been long lost and forgotten about to the RIGHT readers.

In collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. The pages are discoloured and stained from age. The edges and corners are worn and ripped.
Please see pictures for more details and visual confirmation of condition.

It measures approx. 13 inches x 8 inches.

My stock ref in folder #BH1.
