A word about resin:
Each piece is hand cast for several hours depending on the type of resin used. Some resins are less viscous and create less air holes but are very tricky to use with the smaller, more intricate moulds, these resins have a pot time of only a few minutes but cure quite quickly. Therefore, they are made in very small batches. Other resins are more viscous but have a longer pot time and curing time, these are more suitable for smaller more intricate moulds. Some resins cure white, others a cream colour.
Please note that all pieces may contain small air holes which is unavoidable but are not noticeable when in a setting.
A word about finishes:
Once the castings have cured they are demoulded and any overspills need to be carefully pared away. The choice of finishes are as follows:
Plaster effect: the pieces have been primed then sprayed with a matt slightly off-white paint that gives the look of plaster.
Gold effect: the pieces are primed then hand painted with two coats of gold paint .
I am phasing out gold pieces as they are fiddly and time consuming to paint but I will take commissions if you would like gold pieces, just ask.
All sizes are approximate and whilst I have tried to make similar pieces the same depth there may be slight differences.
If you would like more of any particular style then please ask and I will do my best to cast them ASAP.
I also have listings for many other types of mouldings and am working on more all the time. If there is anything you particularly like then I will have a go.
All pieces are stuck to the card with non-permanent glue dots and will be sent in a hard board envelope or a box for multiple purchases. They will be sent by second class post. Custom orders make take a few days but I will keep you updated.
Any questions please ask.
I like to treat customers as I would like to be treated myself.
