This insertion pin also know as a taper is used to install threadless jewelry into the piercing in one swift motion. The surgical stainless steel is autoclave safe or can be disposed of after use making these tapers ideal for guiding threadless jewellery through the skin.

Additional information:316L Stainless steel is probably the most commonly used in manufacturing piercings tools. 316L stainless steel is very easy to clean and keep clean. We often refer to 316L stainless steel as “Surgical Steel”.  Low-carbon surgical stainless steel is ideal for body piercing, even though they contain alloys, these are trapped in the metal through a special process and aren't released. 316l and 316LVM are the only types that are body-friendly.

Steps to use an insertion pin (taper).• Wash your hands with soap and water. If you have disposable gloves, don them.

• Clean the insertion pin (taper) with soap and water, or wipe it thoroughly with 70% isopropyl alcohol.

• Clean the piercing site. Typically this will be with soap and water, 

• Gently guide the thin part of the pin through the channel of the piercing. This should not hurt. If this is uncomfortable, remove the insertion pin and see a piercer as soon as possible.

• Connect your jewelry to the insertion pin by pressure or threading.

Follow the jewelry behind the insertion pin, Screwing it on completely to the insertion pin if threaded or butting it up against the insertion pin it threadless or settling it into the indented portion if concave.

Make sure the Jewellery follows the insertion pin through the piercing smoothly do not use force.
