Here we have a body stripe kit for a Ford Cortina Mk5 Crusader saloon or estate.  Also Taunus TC3 Bravo (European model).

These stripes have been painstakingly reproduced to original dimensions to ensure authenticity. They are supplied in high quality vinyl to ensure long service, Not cheap materials to make the price attractive! In short, you get what you pay for.

I reproduced this stripe kit for a client who is carrying out some restoration work on a Cortina Crusader which requires the stripes replacing. After an exhaustive search neither myself or the client could find a supplier of replacement stripes, hence I set about reproducing the full kit.

The kit consists of both sides & bonnet in 13 individually cut sections with correct body contour spacings for ease of fitment & comes with printed fitting instructions. Now includes the knight decal for the rear panel at no extra cost.

Please note: The knight decal is produced in cut vinyl & has a clear vinyl background for authenticity. It is NOT a printed decal as per the original Ford item which being screen printed lost it's colour & gloss over a short period of time.

Colours available for stripe kit: Please state colour choice when placing your order.
Black & dark red
Silver & dark red
Black & bright red
Light blue & dark red
Black & dark green

Standard colour for knight decal: Dark red or silver metallic.

If you are unsure about the correct colour choice please contact me & I will advise on the correct choice.

I was reluctant to reproduce them as I knew it would involve a lot of work to make an accurate replica of the original kit, But the bodyshop owner who is a Mk1 Cortina enthusiast told me that regular enquiries are made on a Cortina enthusiasts website regarding if these stripes have been reproduced. It would appear that they have not UNTIL NOW!
I have spent 35-40 hours measuring, reproducing prototypes, checking the prototypes against the originals, re-measuring, cutting templates, re-checking against the originals before finally being satisfied with the final result you see here.
The kit may appear costly but when you consider the cost of the original stripes back in the early 80's of around £37 per panel and £48 for the bonnet kit, (a total of £344) I think they are very reasonable. (I used to work in a Ford main dealership bodyshop as a vehicle refinisher from 1979 to 1986 so vividly recall fitting countless Crusader kits, As a large number of cars came direct to the dealership without the stripes fitted as the Crusader was the "phase out" model before the Sierra became the replacement for the Cortina.

Images 1 to 5 show the stripes on the estate version that I personally fitted to ensure that all sections fitted correctly. Images 6 to 12 show the original stripes fitted to the car the dimensions were taken from which is a very low mileage original example which has all the original factory fitted stripes. Images 13 & 14 show the front wing & quarter panel shaped sections before the application tape has been applied to show the quality of the materials used & accuracy of the shaped sections. Images 15 & 16 show the actual kit in supplied form. Finally, image 17 shows the rear crusader 'Knight' decal
PLEASE NOTE: The stripes shown fitted to the car in images 6 to 12 are original items as the car is not yet ready for its replacement stripe kit. The owner wants the car re-striping as some of the stripes have deteriorated with age (they are 40 years old!)
Once the car has been re-striped, these images will be replaced with the new stripes fitted to the car.

As can be seen in the images the stripes are an accurate reproduction of the originals & I would challenge even the most fanatic enthusiast to determine them from the original factory item if fitted correctly.

This stripe kit will fit saloon & estate models, but model MUST be specified when placing an order as the quarter panels are different.

WHEN MAKING PAYMENT PLEASE STATE COLOURS REQUIRED & ALSO SALOON OR ESTATE by adding a message to seller on the Paypal payment page as I cannot manufacture the kit without this information.

Fitting a full kit is strongly recommended to ensure a perfect colour match as stripes can lose their colour with age.

An essential item for completing a restoration or if your original stripes have lost their colour or shine.

Please note I do not sell individual panels or the Knight decal separately, complete kits only.

Please feel free to ask any questions regarding the stripes, I have over 40 years experience in paintwork & vehicle striping & I will assist in anyway possible.

Thanks for taking the time to view this listing.
