This is an authentic original 11 x 14 inches
lobby card No 4 from the film " Samson and Delilah " Starring Victor
Mature, Hedy Lamarr & Angela Lansbury. Lobby card © Copyright in 1959 by Paramount Pictures. The
lobby card is in good condition, with a one inch tear at the bottom left corner,
pinholes & a government censorship approval stamp in the upper right corner.
Trace of sticky tape and writing at the back. Normal
wear due to displaying and aging. This lobby card is from U.S.A and was printed during the years that the
film was released in movie theaters. This lobby card was created by the film
studios to publicise the movie and was intended for display outside the movie
theatre in special glass display boxes. This is not a reproduction, it is a
genuine collector's item.
About the movie : Samson and Delilah is an American film in
technicolor by Cecil B. DeMille, released in 1949, based on a biblical story of
Samson and Delilah in the book of Judges. Samson, a Hebrew of colossal
strenght, struggles for the independence of his people from the Philistines,
single-handedly abusing the occupying army. But Samson falls in love with the
statuesque Princess Delilah with the disturbing beauty, who discovers that the
secret of her strenght lies in her hair. She cuts them off in his sleep and
delivers him to the Philistine. Now blind, he perished by causing the temple to
collapse on the crowd during his judgment.
