About the product 

Our  BMW B47 Swirl Flap Blank is designed to plug the hole left in the 4 cylinder diesel inlet manifold when the swirl flaps are removed.

The improved design allows for easier fitment and a better seal, catering for engines running at higher boost pressure. 

Our plugs are manufactured from high density nylon with urethane rubber o-rings to withstand the pressures and temperatures experienced in the inlet manifold. The urethane rubber o-rings were specifically chosen to resist deterioration due to contact with oils found in the inlet manifold.

What does the blank do?  

The swirl flaps become loose over time and may be ingested into the engine resulting in engine failure. By using our plug you can prevent this problem from occurring. If you are unsure if this item is correct for your engine fell free to contact us with your chassis number and we will confirm fitment.  

Installation will require the removal of the inlet manifold. Remove the swirl flaps and swirl flap rod along with rod bearings. Install plug in void where rod bearing was previously installed. Refit manifold. This will need mapping out. This job can be complete in approximately 2 hours by a competent DIYer or any trained mechanic.
