This is an antique Colonial Spanish late 17th to early 18th Century unmarked silver mounted, double sided, hand painted Christian related pendant showing Mary on one side and Jesus on the Cross on the other side.

Hand painted on brass and placed under bevelled glass or it could even be rock crystal at this sort of age.
One side depicts the crucifixion of Jesus and the other depicts Madonna.

This is late 17th to early 18th Century of Spanish Colonial origin. Plenty to google like it.

The silver frame has a twisted ROPE like border with the flaps cut as a foliage design with engraved lines like leaves.

I cannot see any signatures as such on the painting apart from on the underside of the Mary's right arm. Look here on the white clothing she is wearing, there are some black possible initials here ? or extra brush strokes.

The suspension loop is typical of the 17-18th Century so its fairly easy to compare this to the Colonial Spanish pendants of the period.

Looking at Mary again right down at the bottom some of the paint has flaked off and brass or gilded metal can be seen below the paint.

Quite often these type of religious pendants are described as Eglomise Verre but I cannot be sure this is painted in that way. It is on brass in my opinion on both sides. The attention to detail on Mary is really lovely.

Please see pictures for more details and visual confirmation of condition. Some of the little leaf mounts have snapped off on the Jesus side.  There are some tiny bevel edge flakes off too. There are some surface scuffs on the glass rock crystal from being used picked up and put down on various surfaces over the years.
Please see pictures for more details and visual confirmation of condition.

It measures approx. 58mm x 55mm excluding the suspension loop at the top x 7mm deep. It is 7cm tall including the suspension loop. It weighs approx. 47 grams.
