Description:

BTMS 50 Consists of Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetyl Alcohol and Butylene Glycol. Emulsifier in skin and hair care recipe. Naturally derived from Colza oil

BTMS 50 is an excellent component for hair preparations, particularly solid conditioners. When used in a hair treatment mix, it has a nourishing and detangling effect on hair.

What is BTMS 50?

BTMS 50 is a positively charged cationic emulsifying wax. Because it's cationic, it's also "conditioning"—it adsorbs (forms a very fine coating) on skin and hair, giving it a beautiful sheen that's only found in cationic substances. It includes Behentrimonium Methosulfate, which accounts for half of the active components.

Why We Use

It gives our products a luscious, beautiful skin feel, and it leaves hair feeling gorgeous—easy to comb through and velvety smooth. It also works as a full-fledged emulsifying wax.

Yes, if you're looking to manufacture hair care items. It's also great in lotions as emulsifier cosmetics and as a conditioning ingredient in body butters and balms!

Tips & Trick

I've found that BTMS 50 may be a little recalcitrant when it comes to melting in a water bath, so you may need to give your hot oil phase a fast microwave blast to get it to totally melt.

BTMS 50 has a long shelf life if kept cold, dark and dry
