   Sniff`s debut is found from the first Moomin book "The Moomins and the Great Flood". 

In Tove Janssso`s stories He is a adopted child of the Moomin Family after his parent´s  Muddler and Fuzzy lost him. Sniff is an active character over the whole span of the animated TV series Moomin, even though Tove Jansson used the character only occasionally after the first book.

Sniff likes valuable things and he has many plans how to get rich. In this Mug you can see him very happy with a lot of coins. On the other side he is feeding a cat.

In the animations he is portrayed as brown or grey but in the color pictures made by Tove Jansson he is always white.

We easily forget that in the original books Sniff is small in size but in the comics and for excample in the animated TV series Sniff is tall and relatively large compared to many of the other Moomin characters.
