MasterSD - SD Card Interface Cartridge for the Acorn BBC Master
The MasterSD is a new way of using SD memory cards on the BBC Master. Just insert it into a cartridge slot to give your Master the capability to use SD cards to store games, applications and your own programs.
- Uses normal FAT32 formatted SD cards up to 8GB (*)
- Easy installation; inserts into a cartridge slot on the BBC Master
- Contains it's own RAM, uses none of the Master's system RAM, ensuring maximum compatibility
- High performance, loads games in a few seconds and saves up to 2.5x faster then competing interfaces
- Runs the sideways RAM version of the popular MMFS filesystem software
- Uses standard .SSD disk image files. Most BBC games can be found in this format
- MMFS filesystem can be updated via software flash, no need to burn EPROM chips
- Compatible with both BBC Master and BBC Model B operating system ROMs
- LOAD and SAVE your own programs to SD card
- Adds a 16K sideways RAM bank
- Does not require a functioning floppy disk controller or user port to work
- 3D printed protective case. Colour & appearance may vary slightly from that shown.
The MasterSD is compatible with the Acorn BBC Master 128 / 512. It is not compatible with the Master Compact, or BBC Model A/B/B+ machines.
Please note that an SD card is not included with the device.
(*) SD cards up to 64GB have been tested and found to work provided they are formatted as FAT32 and partitioned to 8Gb or less, but this is not guaranteed. Use of 1-8GB capacity cards from a reputable brand (SanDisk, Kingston, Samsung, Kioxia, etc) is recommended.
