Art Deco Danish Silver Plate Coffee Set P Petersen c1920
This beautiful Danish set is in very good condition.
There is a
tall coffee pot, sugar bowl and milk jug. All are marked to the
underside of the bases P.P and have the Danish twin tower mark used for
silver plate from 1890-1927. There is also a crescent moon mark. This
set is at the very least 95 years old.
The mark P.P is for P N Petersen Copenhagen, 1907-1937.
The design of this set is so lovely with fluted sides and Art Deco Styling.
There
are a few grey spots shown to the coffee pot side and lid and a few odd
light marks to the bowl and jug. The handles to the jug and bowl appear
to be cast in a different metal then plated and both have some light
wear to ridges of the design showing the grey metal beneath. The coffee pot handle is made in a different manner and shows none of this.
The underside of the coffee pot has lost some plating exposing the
copper base. Please look at the photos where we have attempted to show
all the marks.
The coffee pot lid is hinged and sits in place without wear to the hinge.
The
sugar bowl and milk jug are also in good condition to the inside as can
be seen. The coffee pot is mildly coffee stained to the inside.
The sugar bowl measures 90mm tall to the top of the handles and around 150mm across from handle edge to handle edge. The milk jug is 90mm tall and measures around 133mm from spout to handle edge.
The coffee pot is around 210mm to the top of the knob and measures around 230mm across the spout to the handle edge.
