GroundARAY has been designed with one simple purpose, to eliminate high frequency noise.

To do this Chord has developed the GroundARAY to be connected to an unused socket on the back of your system.

What it then does is offer a lower impedance route for the HF noise to pass to, in effect it pumps the noise from the component!

We know this can sound a bit like black magic, so in real terms what can you expect from the GroundARAY ?

The first thing you will notice is the noise floor is lower, basically, the quiet bits sound quieter, which allows subtle sounds that may have been previously lost to be heard. This improves the sense of realism in the music, which is of course the goal. The soundstage also improves with more width and height to the presentation and it is easier to listen into the music (these are of course our experiences and the effects will be different for each product).

The GroundARAY is a cylindrical design made from precision CNC-machined thick-walled aluminium; the thick walls themselves stop the device from contributing HF noise. Available in six termination options, USB A, RCA, XLR(male or female), BNC,DIN and HDMI. The GroundARAY benefits from five separate noise-reduction systems, all working across different HF noise ranges and operating in parallel to convert undesirable HF electrical noise into heat.

The advanced technologies provide a very low-impedance, high-bandwidth route for HF noise to pass into, effectively ‘pulling’ noise from the signal ground of the host equipment.

GroundARAY: built from the ground up

Each GroundARAY is painstakingly built by hand at Chord Company’s Wiltshire factory, including the system components themselves. The GroundARAY comprises a number of absorption devices, attached with a highly advanced double ultra-high-bandwidth connector system. The connectors are made to a very high standard, demanding time-consuming hand-assembly by factory technicians.

Each GroundARAY cylinder is filled with a carefully chosen material to deaden noise. The final assembly is then locked into place to reduce any effects from acoustic vibration.

Ground Aray will offer additional benefits across your system when used in multiple devices, for example in an amplifier and a network streamer.

One thing that is sure once you have plugged it in you certainly will not want to remove it !
