1950s Leopold Anzengruber Naked African Woman Ceramic Sculpture Handmade in Austria Vienna Collar Wrapped Wire Collar Ankle Bracelet

A beautiful Leopold Anzengruber sculpture of a nude African woman wearing a wrapped wire collar and ankle bracelet. 

 

Could Mr. Anzengruber been trying to highlight the horrors of slavery?

The figurine measures approximately 5 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" wide.  She shows the usual signs of age.  I am not sure if the design on her back is by the artist's design or from tape being removed.
