When it comes to wood, the uniqueness of the grain is what sets carved pieces apart.  This is a vintage pineapple shaped bowl which has a beautiful grain in monkey pod wood, which shows a great variation in color and depth.  You can see the pores in the grain in the photos.  I have cleaned this piece, treated the outside with teak oil and the inside with food safe lemon oil.
