For sale are three large central Texas chert / flint stones selected specifically because their size, shape and composition make them ideal for knapping and shaping into spear points or arrowheads. Though these chert / flint stones make excellent fire starters when struck with carbon steel, each rock is approximately 4" x 6", which makes them just right for knapping.

These chert / flint rocks have not been heat-treated or processed in any way. Because this is a natural product, these stones may contain some cracks, fissures, inclusions or fractures.

Chert and Jasper are the general name for several types of stone that are extremely hard and fracture into pieces with sharp edges. Flint is usually chert that is grey. The chert / flint stones you will receive will typically be yellow to reddish brown inside.
