Offering this spectacular and rare doll depicting Marie Antoinette in one of her best fashions.  Beautiful full doll does not lack in detail.  Her head down to her shoulders, and forearms are made of plaster or composition.  Her upper arms, torso, legs and feet/shoes are made of cloth. Beautiful face with exaggerated make up really adds to her fashion charm.  Her dress is made of several layers and includes fabrics such as satin, lace, tulle, and felt, and she stands on a square brocade covered base.  She wears a pearl necklace and has adornments on her dress made of the same pearls.  There is old handwriting on the base, which looks to read, "Fashion Doll/Marie Antoinette/1755-1793/Queen of France and Leader of the most extravagant fashions ever known in Europe."

This doll measures 13.75 inches to the top of her head, and I believe was made in the 1920s.  I'm not sure as to the country of origin, but my guess is that it's European made.  In very good condition, there is wear to her pearl necklace,  she's generally a bit dirty and grubby, there are some age spots here and there on her composition parts, and the fabric is a bit faded in places.  Also, she stands a little lopsided off to her left, but is able to stand up fully well on her own.

A gorgeous doll with fabulous attire and an especially lovely face that will be a fine addition to any collection!

Will be shipped with great care, thank you!
