NGI 1Liter Bottle bokashi EM (effective micro-organism) is a proprietor cultured microorganisms system with inoculated grains such as wheat, bran and rice husks.

NGI Bokashi compost bin is specifically designed air-tight double lid for an anaerobic conditions (no oxygen) required for the fermentation process in breaking down food waste including dairy and meat that can not be achieves in standard composting method that "decompose" with rotting foul odour. 

Place food scraps into the bucket with no more than 100mm layering and each layer is sprinkle with NGI bokashi fermented grains, compacting down the waste with the stainless steel rake and close the lids. Active microorganisms will starts to ferment the waste and because the food isn’t decomposing, there’s no terrible rotting food smell (although it’s not odourless), and it doesn’t attract pests. When the lid is on, there is no smell at all.

NGI Bokashi compost bin is fitted with a large spigot at the bottom for collecting leachate (liquid) every second day. The nutrient rich liquid is highly concentrated that needs to be diluted at a ration of 1:5000 ( 2-5 drops per liter of unchlorinated water - chlorine will kills all the beneficial microorganism ) for fertiliser applications.

Once the bin is full with food waste, set aside for 10-15 days for further fermentation, the compost should be then be buried in the soil, please note that planting only after 2-4 weeks period for the acidity of the compost to neutralise (it can burn plant roots otherwise).

Final note : We recommends getting 2 bins so that when one is full and set aside for further fermentations of 2-4weeks, you can start another bin to continue the composting process.
