Vintage Guardian Service Cookware Hammered Aluminum 1 Qt Pot *No Lid*

Guardian Service Ware, a high-end, stove-to-table line of "waterless" cookware, was manufactured by the Century Metalcraft Corporation from the Great Depression through the war years (until the company's Los Angeles plant burned down in 1956).  The cookware line was sold door-to-door by salesmen who prepared demonstration dinners for prospective buyers.

 

Item Specifics:  Pot measures 8 3/4"handle-to-handle, Diameter outside is 6 3/4" and inside 6 1/4". Height is 2 1/2".  Holds 1 quart (4cups) to the rim.  Includes the classic features of the Guardian Service cookware line to include hammered aluminum exterior, flat cooking base for uniform heating, and curved double handles.  The bottom of the pot is stamped with Guardian Service logo circling the Knight's helmet with three stacked stars on the right and left sides.  Does not include original box or care instructions and the lid is missing.

 

Notable Imperfections and Defects:  The pot has all-over scratches, markings, light pitting on interior bottom, and wear from use and cleaning. The piece appears to have been cleaned with steel wool frequently.  This item does not have a lid.
