Large FAMILLE ROSE FLORAL Teapot. Holds 36 ounces. Purchased at National Gallery of Art in Washington - never used.

It is delicately painted with a profusion of multi-coloured 'flower-balls' in a whimsical vision, arranged asymmetrically and scattered throughout.

Flower ball decoration was innovated during the Yongzheng period and was associated with the Emperor’s fascination with Japanese lacquerware.

The art on this gorgeous teapot hangs in the National Gallery of Art.
