Antique NORTHWOOD Blue Opalescent Glass DOLPHIN Fish Card Compote Dish Bowl. This beautiful glass antique was made by the Northwood Glass Company and dates back to the turn of the last century. Northwood, which was founded in 1886 and closed down in 1925, called this a card receiver, though it could also be considered a candy or compote dish. Its pedestal is in the shape of a dolphin or a curved fish since it shows scales, fins and gills. Northwood introduced this dish to the world for the first time in 1899.

Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, scratches or repairs. Has a tiny quarter-inch dark spot on the base that's in the glass, perhaps from the glass firing process, but I'm being picky here. A great collectible and antique.

Measures 6.5" wide by 5.5" tall.  Weighs 15 oz.
